Oregon Inlet
Nearshore, bluefish and drum are biting. Inshore, sheepshead, gray trout, bluefish and black sea bass have been caught . Offshore boats found success with yellowfin tuna, tilefish, dolphin, blackfin tuna and wahoo. Contact: Oregon Inlet Fishing Center 252-441-6301, www.oregon-inlet.com.
Buxton/Hatteras
Down in Frisco, pu py drum and trout have been reported. Puppy drum and black drum are biting out near Hatteras. Around the points, red drum, sea mullet and black drum are biting. Flounder and bluefish are biting in the sound. Cape Lookout/Bogue Inlet
The story in the area is the trout bite, with most of them showing up in the surf and up the rivers. Anglers are also finding success with albacore in the surf. On the soundside, drum and flounder are still being caught . Offshore boats have mostly stayed docked due to poor weather, but anglers that have gone out reported wahoo and blackfin tuna are biting. Topsail Island
In the surf, b luefish, sea mullet and trout have been reported with red drum being caught at night. A lbacore, speckle d trout and spots were reported on the piers. Nearshore anglers reported Spanish and speckled trout have been caught. Offshore anglers found success with wahoo and dolphin. Wilmington/ Wrightsville Beach
Nearshore anglers reported good catches of king mackerel. Inshore boats caught flounder, red drum and speckled trout. Surf anglers are catching drum, flounder, spotfish, sea mullet and bluefish. Contact: Texs Tackle 910-791-1763, www.texstackle.com.
Southport/Sunset Beach
Pier fishermen reported blu efish and spots along with scattered king mackerel. In the surf, anglers are still finding success with bluefish and drum. Freshwater
Falls Lake
L argemouth bass are still biting at the main lake points at medium depths on crankbaits and Texas red worms. Crappie are still biting minnows and small jigs on the river channels at 15 foot depths. Kerr Lake
Largemouth bass are biting on spinner baits and crank baits at shallow to medium depths. The crappie are biting on jigs between eight to 15 foot depths near brushpiles. Shearon Harris Lake
