U.S. says Brasa restaurant owes workers $68,482 for labor law violations

Published: November 15, 2012

— Brasa, a Brazilian steak house at 8551 Brier Creek Parkway, will pay 18 workers more than $68,000 in wages they should have received but did not, the U.S. Department of Labor said Thursday

In a statement, the department said the restaurant had agreed to pay $68,482.

Some of the money is overtime that kitchen workers did not collect when they worked beyond 40 hours in a week, the Labor Department said.

Other workers who receive tips had overtime calculated incorrectly, the statement said.

A third labor law violation involved not paying some employees for all the time they worked, the Labor Department said.
