March on
As my 90-year-old mom (who served during WWII decoding messages for the British Navy) said in a discussion about the Petraeus and Allen scandal, “Gen. Eisenhower had an ongoing affair with [Kay] Summersby during the war and everybody knew about it. I don’t believe the Invasion of Normandy, or any other operations were compromised as a result of Eisenhower’s dalliance.”
My mom, who has been a U.S. citizen for 68 years continued, “Petraeus and Allen have served our country and risked their lives in ways none of us can imagine. We need to move on.”
If a 90-year-old proud U.S. citizen and devoted wife of 68 years can move on, can’t we? Wisdom speaks here, people.
