Scary perspective
It’s apparent Ed Feulner, president of the Heritage Foundation hasn’t learned anything from the election (“Fight for the right,” Nov. 10 op-ed article). When you're in a “bubble tank” with people who think alike, you can’t possibly realize how stark and scary your language sounds to others.
It doesn’t sound like small government, free enterprise or democracy. It sounds like a huge government taking away working people’s rights and money and giving their wealth to the highest bidder who wants to buy the next election. It sounds like a world that belongs to 1 percent of the population with the rest being slave labor.
Believe it or not, the best way to meet your dreams is to assist others to meet theirs. A large, happy and prosperous middle class is a country’s best defense against tyranny. You can be incredibly wealthy, and still be surrounded by a prosperous, employed middle class. When you die at a ripe old age, you will be surrounded by a loving community and people will lay flowers, and say nice things at your funeral.
Instead of reading Ayn Rand, watch the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life!” Mr. Potter will show you exactly how you were viewed by many and why you lost this election.
