Budget equity

When others don't do their part, we all suffer. The wealthiest Americans state they cannot afford to pay more taxes. The middle class cannot afford the onslaught of more taxes – the bleeding must stop.

We cannot afford more unregulated enterprise, war in the Middle East, while the government cuts out vital social programs. The masses have been exploited while the haves become lords in Washington.

It’s time to stop helping the giant oil and gas companies and to start helping hurting families. It’s time to make education a priority, end our dependency on foreign oil and invest in alternative energy. It’s time to become innovators by investing in technology, while remaining competitive in an ever-changing world.

President Obama must remember who he’s fighting for. He needs to stand his ground and not let Bush-onomics get in the way of progress.
