Two Raleigh men arrested, charged with attacking each other

— Two Raleigh men were arrested on assault charges Friday for attacking each other.

Christopher Fort Lane, 27, of 8208 Merriweather Circle, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury. Police say he stabbed Ronald Lee McClain, 24, of 3134 Hayling Drive, with a knife.

McClain, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Police say he hit Lane with a motor vehicle.

Lane was also charged with destruction of private property for slashing a woman’s tires on the same day. It is unclear whether that was directly related to the assault charges.

Lane has a 10 year history of arrest charges, including possession with intent to sell and trafficking in cocaine. He also has been arrested multiple times for robbery and armed robbery and was arrested two years to the day for the same crime of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

Lane’s bail is set at $350,000. McClain’s bail is set at $200,000.
