Cutting cartoon

I am outraged by the completely biased and prejudicial editorial cartoon by Signe Wilkinson on Nov. 16 (We want to secede!). She equates teen pregnancy and low test scores with religious beliefs; she portrays tea partyers with lynch ropes in their hands; and I guess everyone else who lives in Texas is a white, football-playing, gun-toting, bouffant-haired secessionist.

Somehow she thinks that stating she’s a Texan native allows her to bash and paint Texas with the broad stroke of intolerance. Well, the state I’m from tells me that she is a bigot and herself intolerant.

I can’t fathom why you would print this nasty, snarky, divisive cartoon. Oh wait, I forgot – you agree with her.
