Rhonda Hurlbert: Dropping shopping

Dropping shopping

Thanksgiving, by definition, is a day to reflect and give thanks. I am pretty sure our forefathers did not have standing in line at a local retailer in mind. When did Black Friday become shopping on Thanksgiving Day?

Please put Black Friday back where it belongs, on Friday, and leave Thanksgiving as the American holiday intended.

One thing is for sure. When I bow my head to say grace over a wonderfully prepared meal, I will be thankful for so many of my gifts in life – not how much money I saved by shopping on America’s holiday!
