Julia Greer Hafer and Charles Spruill Nichols were married on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at half past seven in the evening at Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh. Dr. Robert Vance officiated. A reception, dinner and dance followed, hosted by the bride's parents.

The bride is the daughter of Holly Creech Hafer and Gene Hafer. She is the granddaughter of Julia Lee Creech and the late Marshall Ezekiel Creech formerly of Kinston, N.C.; and the granddaughter of the late B.L. and Mary Greer Hafer.

The groom is the son of Carol Spruill and Jack Nichols of Raleigh, N.C. He is the grandson of Edna Whitley Spruill, now of Raleigh and formerly of Washington, N.C. and the late Jesse J. Spruill. He also is the grandson of William Nichols and Eleanor Rathbone Nichols of Charlotte, N.C.

The groom's brother, Jackson Nichols of Alexandria, VA, was best man. Lynne Richman, the bride's niece of Needham, MA, was the maid of honor. Jay Bettis and Parker Highsmith served as groomsmen. The bride's attendants were Katie Lee Jones and Liz Richman. Morgan Jones and Leann Ragland were the guests' attendants. A jazz trio of musicians, Jeremy Marcotte, Andrew Shillito and Charlton Provatas provided the music for the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is in a doctoral program in developmental psychology at NC State University. She is the owner of Beauty Ethics at Cameron Village. The groom is a graduate of Colorado College and has both a Masters in Public Administration and a Masters in Special Education from NC State University. He is a teacher in the Special Programs Department at Moore Square Middle School in Wake County.

The groom's parents hosted the after-rehearsal dinner at their home, and the parents of the bride and the groom hosted a garden party in celebration of the wedding at the home of the groom's parents. The Honorable and Mrs. William A. Creech and their children hosted a brunch for out-of-town guests on the day following the wedding.

The bride and groom traveled to Spain and Portugal for their honeymoon. They live in Raleigh, N.C.
