Watch your tongue

Sometimes I cringe when reading comments by UNC men’s basketball Coach Roy Williams. One of his favorite words is “freaking,” which we all know is a slight alteration of another word that is not permissible to say or put in print.

In the Nov. 21 edition, the coach says, “You've got to freaking step up and be a man on game night.” He should follow his own advice and step up his game with respect to his language. After all, he is probably the most visible and best known spokesman for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, so it would be appropriate for him to speak like an educated person.
