Your Nov. 17 article “Kroger closing 2 Raleigh stores” stated that “both (locations) have been unprofitable for the company.” As a Kroger pharmacist at the New Bern Avenue location, I would like to make clear that our pharmacy has been one of the most profitable locations in our Kroger region. We have given substantial profits to the store for the 12 years I have worked there, despite increased competition in our geographical area.

In my opinion, our success has been due to having one of the most caring and professional pharmacy staffs I have ever worked with. It is a tragedy to break up our team and no longer be able to serve our patients with the compassion and clinical expertise we offer.

We have been blessed with an incredibly loyal patient base. We wish to thank each and every patient who has made Kroger pharmacy on New Bern Avenue successful. They have been a family to us and we greatly appreciate their loyalty, love and kindness. We hope that Kroger can serve them in the future. We will miss them all and wish for them good health and wellness.
