Raleigh man arrested, accused in theater scare

— A Raleigh man has been arrested in connection with the Nov. 15 scare at the Mission Valley Cinemas on the night of the “Twilight” premiere.

Raleigh police have arrested Derrick Donta Bell, 29, of 912 Weston St., for leaving the scene of an accident, careless and reckless driving, disorderly conduct and injury to personal property.

Bell is accused of careening his vehicle into two parked vehicles, then crashing into a tree across the parking lot from the theater at 2109 Avent Ferry Road before entering the theater and causing a general panic by yelling profane commands for movie patrons to evacuate.

Bell’s bail is set at $2,000.
