WAKE FOREST — Police have made three arrests in connection with a Tuesday afternoon shooting in downtown Wake Forest, according to a police department news release.
Police were called to the Autocare & Quick Lube on Roosevelt Avenue around 4:30 p.m. where they found a man inside the store with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Three suspects drove away from the scene of the shooting in an older model Volvo, but police caught up with them in the Crenshaw Hall subdivision. The driver was apprehended when the Volvo stopped on Longhouse Street, but the other two suspects ran away. Both were captured and arrested, the last one at 5:20 p.m.
Identities of those involved and details of the incident were not immediately available.
Preliminary investigation indicates the suspects and victim were acquainted and shooting was not a random act or a robbery, according to Wake Forest Police Department spokesman Bill Crabtree.
