Trash cart time

I am proud of Raleigh’s trash and recycle collection, but I am amazed that our City Council is considering decreasing the time for carts to be on the curb because some folks do not follow the present rules.

I am an 80-year-old woman who still handles my garbage and trash. And I hope to be able to do so for a while longer. Timing my life around putting my trash out seems a poor use of time.

I cannot take the cans out after dark because it would be an opportunity to fall. Probably, in my neighborhood, no one needs to move their cans after dark. We have long driveways.

We have rules – let’s enforce them, not make life difficult for everyone!
