Two men face charges in Wake County of sex offenses with teenage girls

From staff reportsNovember 29, 2012

— Town police and Wake County sheriff’s deputies have charged two men with sexual offense in separate cases, one involving a 14-year-old girl and the other a 15-year-old, according to arrest warrants.

Early Thursday, deputies stopped a car on Calumet Drive in Raleigh and arrested Larry Jerome Pulley, 26, who is listed on a warrant as living in Franklinton but on an arrest report as having no permanent address.

Pulley faces one count of statutory rape/sexual offense under a felony provision for instances when the defendant is more than six years older than the victim.

Deputies said the girl in that case was 15 and that the offense occurred between Aug. 1 and Aug. 24. The warrant does not specify where authorities believe it happened.

After the traffic stop, they also charged Pulley with driving while his license was under revocation.

Magistrates set his bond at $1 million.

In the other case, Wake Forest police charged Robert William McHenery, 20, with three counts of statutory rape/sexual offense involving a 14-year-old girl between Aug. 1, 2011, and Nov. 13 of this year.

The warrant charging McHenery gives an address of 1417 Fleming Road, while an arrest report lists 878 Colt Drive, both in Wake Forest.

McHenery was charged under a section of law for cases in which the defendant is more than four years older than the other person but less than six years older.

His bond was set at $100,000.
