BENSON — State troopers and the state Department of Transportation said they expected it may be noon Friday before congestion finally smoothed out on southbound Interstate 95 following a lane closure overnight near mile marker 84.
The highway was interrupted after a tractor-trailer overturned about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. That may have been due to a cow on the interstate, which apparently stemmed from an earlier incident involving a smaller truck hauling a trailer with animals in it.
Its all open, a Highway Patrol dispatcher said about 6 a.m. Friday, but added, It was closed all night, and backups were expected to take several hours to ease.
The DOTs traffic website had an estimate that congestion could last until noon.
