Winners, losers

In your Nov. 29 story about Louisville joining the ACC, Holden Thorp (resigning because of the UNC athletic scandal) says, “What the ACC needed the most was to add the most exciting sports program that we could.”

Louisville’s president says, “We’re following the Chapel Hill model.”

And over at N.C. State, Debbie Yow says the prime criterion in finding a successor to Tom O’Brien is “finding for us a person who is, pure and simple, a winner.”

I sure miss Bill Friday.
