ACC’s money trail
In the past two years, our beloved Atlantic Coast Conference has gained Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Notre Dame and is losing founding member Maryland and is now acquiring Louisville due to conference expansion – but the one selling point of all these changes I keep hearing in the media is more money!
As a state employee, my question is, where’s this mysterious extra money that we’re supposed to get from expansion? I haven’t seen any. In fact, I lost my job from N.C. State University three years ago after expansion. The only people getting extra money are the commissioner, the school presidents, ESPN and the firms that brokered the deals.
