McCrory’s Dix call

I am a Democrat who supported Walter Dalton for governor. As a citizen of Raleigh, I have long advocated that the City of Raleigh acquire the Dix Hospital property for an urban park site. I still do. However, for reasons that are not clear to me, we Democrats frittered away our opportunity to make that happen over these past few years.

We had our chance, and we blew it. I am not assigning blame, just stating a fact. Now that Pat McCrory has won the election, it seems only fair that the incoming governor should be allowed to decide how the Dix property will be utilized.
