GARNER — Garner police on Saturday were investigating a shooting at an apartment complex that left one woman dead and her mother injured.
Latoya McNeil, 31, and her mother, Angela Harding, 48, were struck by gunfire in the parking lot of the Delmont Apartments at 207 Johnson St. about 9:30 p.m. Friday.
McNeil died at the scene, police said, and Harding was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Garner police are looking for two male suspects who fled on foot. They were last seen running from the apartments toward Curtiss Drive.
Investigators ask anyone with information to call them at 919-772-8810.
The women had arrived at the apartment complex from work, and were in the same vehicle when they were shot, police said.
"I do not have a reason or a motive for the shooting at this time," Garner police Chief Brandon V. Zuidema said Saturday morning.
