Local Scouts are top cookie sellers

Six Girl Scouts from Raleigh earned honors from the N.C. Coastal Pines Council for selling more than 5,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies during their service.

Yasmine Burton, a member of Troop 1412 and the daughter of Derone and Stephanie Burton, has sold 5,655 boxes of Girl Scout cookies in the past seven years, including 1,110 boxes this year.

Since Alexandra Dean began selling cookies five years ago, she has sold 5,253 boxes of cookies, including 1,039 boxes this year. Alexandra, a member of Troop 1910, is the daughter of Kim Dean.

Breanna Maddox sold 854 boxes this year for a total of 5,078 boxes of cookies over the past eight years. Breanna is a member of Troop 3563 and is the daughter of John and Celeste Maddox.

Taylor Porchea, a member of Troop 1150 and the daughter of Elbert and Patricia Porchea, has sold 5,079 boxes over the past seven years, including 753 this year.

Since she began selling cookies five years ago, Aniyah Sneed has sold 6,190 boxes of cookies, including 1,900 this year. Aniyah, a member of Troop 338, is the daughter of Eric and Angela Sneed Williams.

Taylor White has sold 5,337 boxes of Girl Scout cookies over the past five years, including 1,447 this year. Taylor is a member of Troop 620 and is the daughter of Byron and Charlotte White.

In total, 14,000 Girl Scouts in the N.C. Coastal Pines council sold 3.4 million boxes of cookies this year. The 2013 Girl Scout cookie sale program begins on Jan. 5.
