Scout creates comfort packs for hospitalized kids

Lauren Gettinger of Raleigh has earned the Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

For her Gold project, Lauren created comfort packs to be given to children when they are first admitted to WakeMed Children’s Hospital.

Lauren, the daughter of Tom and Debbie Gettinger, graduated this year from Broughton High School and was a member of Troop 877, led by her mother and Liz Mills.
