Garner police know little about homicide suspects

Published: December 3, 2012

— Police say they still know very little about who shot two women, killing one of them, as they returned home from work on Friday night.

Latoya McNeil, 31, and her mother, Angela Harding, 48, were struck by gunfire in the parking lot of the Delmont Apartments at 207 Johnson St. about 9:30 p.m. Friday.

McNeil died at the scene, police said, and Harding was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Garner police said they were looking for two black male suspects who were last seen running from the apartments toward Curtiss Drive. Lt. Wayne Moore said Monday that police don’t know anything else about the suspects, including their age or what they looked like.

“We have no information on them,” Moore said.

Police don’t know why the women were shot, Moore said. He said there was no robbery.

The women had arrived at the apartment complex from work and were in the same vehicle when they were shot, police said.

Investigators ask anyone with information to call them at 919-772-8810.
