In 1914, the first year of World War I, German and English soldiers put down their weapons and left their trenches on Christmas Eve to meet each other to celebrate the holiday. They exchanged food and sang songs in a truce that was never to be repeated. Carrboro ArtsCenter’s theatrical production of “All Is Calm” recreates the event with texts from letters, journals and war documents, along with patriotic tunes and Christmas carols performed by Cantari’s Men’s Ensemble. 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday; 3 p.m. Sunday (through Dec. 16). $10-$18. 919-929-2787; artscenterlive.org.
