Body found in South Raleigh

— Police on Saturday evening are investigating the discovery of a body in South Raleigh.

Police were alerted Saturday afternoon that a male body was lying in a wooded area near the Hammond Road exit from Interstate 40.

A police spokesman said detectives are in the early stages of the case, and additional details might not be released before Sunday.
