December 9, 2012

Prenessa Lowery of Raleigh has earned the Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

For her Gold project, Prenessa developed an adult dental hygiene workshop at Union Baptist Church in Durham that included providing instructional materials as well as demonstrating proper brushing and flossing techniques. She also arranged a free dental screening for workshop participants to help encourage healthy habits.

Prenessa is a senior at Leesville Road High School and a member of Troop 1207.
