Christopher Schmid of Durham has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting.
For his Eagle project, Christopher installed three benches along various parts of the church property at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Immaculata Catholic School in Durham, providing resting spots for the elderly parishioners while they travel church grounds as well as a place for parents to sit while their children use the playground.
Christopher, son of Christine and Steve Schmid, is a senior at Riverside High School in Durham and is a member of Troop 423 at McMannen United Methodist Church.
