Cary police charge four teens with BB vandalism

Published: December 17, 2012

— Police have charged four Cary teens with firing a BB gun at dozens of vehicles in town since Nov. 23.

Jose Luis Corrales Romero, 17, of Stone Court, Nelson Vladimir Hernandez-Tobar, 18, of Hickory Street, Angel Ubano Juarez, 17, of York Street; and Christian Francisco Tobar-Vasquez, 16, of Hickory Street, have each been charged with one misdemeanor count of injury to real property and injury to personal property.

Police arrested the teens during a traffic stop overnight on Thursday. Additional charges are possible, police said.

The four teens are thought to have to have caused more than 50 acts of vandalisms to vehicles. The majority involved breaking windows with what appears to be a BB gun, though a few involved thrown eggs.

Most of the vehicles were parked on streets inside the Maynard Loop. Police say nothing was taken from any of the vehicles and no injuries have been reported.
