Were excited to launch N&O Plus, a digital subscription plan that offers The News & Observer in all of its formats in print, online and via smartphone or tablet. Subscribers will also receive free membership in our N&O Zone rewards program, which offers ticket discounts and other benefits.
We are joining more than 300 newspapers across the country in adopting this business model, which acknowledges the increasing use of digital media and its benefits to readers, advertisers and journalists.
N&O Plus will offer home delivery subscribers unlimited access to newsobserver.com and our community news sites; our mobile site at m.newsobserver.com; our smartphone apps; our digital replica edition on your computer, iPad and most tablets; and our tablet edition that launches early next year. We will also offer digital-only subscriptions. Online visitors will be able to read the home page of newsobserver.com and main pages like local news, sports, features and business but will be asked to subscribe once they have viewed 15 pieces of content in 30 days.
The N&O has brought the news to you for 118 years, and not for nothing is it called The Old Reliable by longtime readers. Weve changed and improved over the years, and were excited about N&O Plus. It will give you the ability to receive news from us as you wish, whether thats our website, print edition or mobile and tablet apps. We hope youll want to use them all.
