NHL cancels games through Jan. 14

The NHL has canceled another block of regular-season games, extending the cancellations through Jan. 14.

A total of 625 regular-season games were scheduled between Oct. 11 and Jan. 14 -- 50.8 percent of the season. The NHL also has canceled with 2013 Winter Classic game set for New Year's Day.

The NHL players have been locked out since Sept. 15, when the collective bargaining agreement expired.
