The money piece

I was surprised to read Rob Christensen’s column about Pat McCrory’s choice of Aldona Wos to be the new DHHS secretary.

I read all the way through the glowing description of McCrory’s decision-making process and Wos’ pedigree but never saw a mention of all the money that Wos funneled to McCrory’s campaign.

Wos, her husband and employees of their company, New Breed Logistics, have donated at least $150,000 to Pat McCrory’s campaign fund, a significant amount from a single source.

With record amounts of campaign flooding into our elections, it’s important for journalists to speak the truth about the undeniable connection between money and politics and not buy politicians’ spin – hook, line and sinker.
