Leaders must act
On Sept. 11, 2001, over 3,000 people were killed, and the whole nation came together to declare war against the Taliban, al-Qaida and Afghanistan.
Is it time for us to consider the Newtown shootings to the same scale or even proportional scale? We lost most innocent and valuable futures of the country. We spent several trillions to fight a useless war in Iraq.
Where is our will and resources to fight gun violence, which is the highest compared with other countries?
I know this is a holiday season, but that is no excuse to talk only or take the photo ops and not act. I urge all politicians and leaders at every level of governance to take this incident seriously before memory fades.
