Factory farms safe
My family has farms in both Lenoir and Duplin counties on which there are neither hogs nor chickens, but three of our farms adjoin “animal factories” producing pork or chicken.
Each of these “factory farms” is operated by different farm companies.
There hasn’t been any air, water or ground water contamination from any of these neighbors, and the utmost sanitation is required and practiced in order to protect both the animals and the employees.
Their waste (as has historically been done) is used to fertilize next year’s field crops.
Anyone who is worried about antibiotic-resistant bacteria contamination should consider eating only organically produced food.
