Scout’s Silver project spruces up park

Samantha Thomas of Raleigh has earned the Silver Award, the second-highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

For her Silver Award project, Samantha volunteered at Strickland Road Park in Raleigh, organizing a mulch drop-off and leading other volunteers in mulching one of the trails. She also worked at the wetlands center and greenhouse.

Samantha, the daughter of Chris and Debora Thomas, and attends Millbrook High School and is a member of Troop 1069, led by Sarah Jessup.
