Emily Thomas of Raleigh has earned the Silver Award, the second-highest award in Girl Scouting.
For Silver Award project, Emily helped create a butterfly sanctuary at Strickland Road Park in Raleigh. She also spent time volunteering with the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department.
Emily, the daughter of Jeremy and Tara Thomas, attends Leesville Road High School and is a member of Troop 1069, led by Sarah Jessup.
