Miss Avril Ruth Costello and Dr. John Peoples Tanner were married on September 21, 2012 at half past four o’ clock in The Gardens at Fearrington. The Reverend Matthew Ashburn officiated. The ceremony was followed by a reception at The Fearrington House at Fearrington Village.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Siobhán Christina Costello and the late Mr. John Anthony Costello of Athy, Co. Kildare, Ireland. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Murphy of Dublin, Ireland and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Costello of Menlough, Co. Galway, Ireland.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Tanner of Raleigh. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh E. Peoples of Mount Airy, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Reed C. Tanner of Kingstree, South Carolina.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Mr. Declan Costello of Raleigh. Mrs. Aisling Mullen, sister of the bride, was Matron of Honor, and the bride’s nephew, Conor Costello, was ringbearer. Mr. John Thomas Tanner, father of the groom, served as Best Man. The scripture readers were Mrs. Kathleen Tanner Kennedy, Mr. David Costello, Mr. Desmond Bone, Mr. Robert Kennedy, Jr, Mr. Richard Mullen, Miss Ashling Murphy, and Ms. Kathy Johnson.

The Bride is a graduate of the National University of Ireland, Galway and is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. She is a Senior Manager with KPMG LLP in Raleigh.

The groom is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He completed his residency training at the University of Virginia and is a physician with Duke Primary Care in Knightdale.

After a honeymoon trip to Europe, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
