North Carolina Central freshman guard Amber Neely has been selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference women’s basketball rookie of the week, the MEAC announced.
A native of Charlotte, Neely averaged 14.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists per contest in two outings last week.
On Saturday, Neely recorded the first double-double of her rookie campaign with season-highs of 16 points and 11 rebounds at Gardner-Webb, while adding three steals and an assist.
On Wednesday, the 5-5 guard tallied 13 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals at UNC Greensboro.
