War expenses
I agree with the writer of the Dec. 7 letter “Ponzi taxation” that true budgeting includes examining all expenses – including the cost of 10 years of two wars that no one seems to want to talk about.
We’ve ended the war in Iraq and we’re winding down the conflict in Afghanistan. Isn’t it possible to transfer these former expenses to domestic programs like education, veterans benefits and health care?
And we need to note that the proposed $250,000 income level subject to increased tax should be stressed as taxable income, which is very different. Small businesses (under $10 million) would face this often after their salaries, benefits and expenses have been deducted.
