Tara Kathleen Blalock and Jared Burton Johnson were married Sunday, June24, 2012, on the beach at Nags Head. The Reverend Patricia Walden officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Ricky and Lynne Blalock of Willow Spring. She is the granddaughter of Ben and Sarah Blalock of Willow Spring, Fred Jones of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Judy and Charles Massey of Garner. Parents of the groom are Burton and Judy Johnson of Four Oaks. He is the grandson of the late Bill and Margie King of Mt. Olive, and Stough and Queenie Johnson of Four Oaks. Jared and Tara are both graduates of South Johnston High School. Tara received a BA in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and an MAT from Duke University. She is a science teacher in the Johnston County Schools. Jared received a BS in Agricultural and Environmental Technology from North Carolina State University. He is a sales representative for S & M Brands, Inc. The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Kelly's Restaurant in Nags Head on the eve of the wedding. A reception was held August 11 at the Johnston County Agricultural Center in Smithfield. After a honeymoon trip to the Outer Banks, the couple lives in Willow Spring.
