Students from Apex Middle School were honored for artistic achievement recently.

The school placed seventh overall in the N.C. State Fair’s art contest with entries submitted from Kelly Heimann, Emily Tiller, Viri Rivera, Johnny Sullivan, Erin Conroy and Lane Williams.

Several Apex Middle students were selected for All-District Band. In the honors ensemble, Ben Carlson was selected for tenor sax, Joshua Spiesman for trumpet, Cameron Jacobsen for French horn, Lauren Raiford for euphonium, Krystal Kimmel for mallets and Julian Creech-Pritchett and Kevin Devlin for snare drum.

Peter Compton on alto sax and Skanda Sastry on euphonium were chosen as first alternates.
