RALEIGH — RALEIGH Detectives have arrested a second man on burglary and larceny charges stemming from a home break-in that was captured by a home-security system and has been viewed more than 1.8 million times on YouTube.
Kadarius Dashon Newsome, 20, of 125 Railroad Lane in Roxboro was charged Friday, one day after Qushawn Dy’antay Newsome, 17, of 405 Starrett Court was arrested at his home.
It was not immediately known if the two are related.
Kadarius Newsome was arrested at the corner of Dacian Road and Peyton Street about 1 p.m., according to a police arrest report.
The break-in happened Dec. 29 at a single-family house in the Caraleigh neighborhood while the owners were away.
A multi-camera video system in the house caught three men ringing the front doorbell to be sure they would not get an answer, then kicking in the kitchen door and looking for items to take.
The trio tried to destroy the recording after they realized what had happened, but failed.
Kadarius Newsome was being held on a $30,000 bond for a court appearance Monday.
According to online state prison records, Kadarius Newsome was convicted in 2009 of felony breaking and entering and larceny and was put on probation. That later was revoked, however, and he served about 5½ months in prison in 2011.
