A Bizarro world

Lately I am reminded of the Bizarro Code from the planet Htrae from DC comics: “Us do opposite of all Earthly things! Us hate beauty! Us love ugliness! Is big crime to make anything perfect on Bizarro World!”

Lowering the deficit three years in a row is out-of-control spending. Social Security’s $2.6 trillion surplus is “underfunded.” The sharp rise in deportations is “open borders.” The unemployment rate falling three points is “chronic joblessness.” A capitalistic boon to the health insurance industry is socialism. The utter absence of religion is a religion.

Now we hear those who claim that we must have more guns in schools in order to have fewer gun-related incidents in schools. In other words: “Oh, no! An elephant has fallen on top of the clown! Quickly, now: Pile on more elephants!”

“Us do opposite of all Earthly things!” Indeed.
