CEO salaries
The rise of health insurance costs is certainly justifiable. How else can they pay their CEOs?
Aetna’s CEO received $72 million in total compensation in 2010 on leaving the company. For 2011, a new Aetna CEO received a 20 percent increase to $10.6 million.
The Anthem Blue CEO earned $4.6 million, and the top 10 executives earned a total of $14 million.
Wellmark’s CEO gets $3.1 million, a 29 percent increase since 2009. And the N.C. Blue Cross gave its CEO $1.8 million in total compensation.
Then again, let’s just say it is because of Obamacare.
