Regarding the Jan. 5 New York Times editorial “Lessons not learned at Penn State”: Why reprint this?

Yes, I am Penn State alum. This whole thing with Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett has to do with the money – $60 million to be exact. NCAA President Mark Emmert wants the money to be dispersed as he sees fit. SEC conference’s Bahamas condos? Who really knows?

The crimes occurred in central Pennsylvania, and the money should be there to help our children. If this had happened at UNC and the fines were sent to Alaska for whatever reason, you can bet UNC alums would be all over this.

It has to do with the money. All $60 million. And the NCAA wants it.
