DURHAM — Police on Thursday were investigating the slaying of a man found shot multiple times outside the Town ‘n’ Country convenience store at the corner of University Drive and Dixon Road.

Officers were sent to the store just before midnight to investigate a report of gunshots in the area at 3101 University Drive.

They found the man, whose age and identity have not been disclosed, somewhere outside the store.

No details were available about where the body was on the property.

Police did say the victim was not a Town ‘n’ Country employee, and they gave no indication that a robbery or other crime was involved.

The store in just up and across Dixon Road from the Hope Valley Elementary School.
