RALEIGH — Former Gov. Jim Holshouser has been hospitalized, according to former Lt. Gov. Jim Gardner, who made the announcement at the beginning on Saturday’s inaugural ceremony in downtown Raleigh.
His condition was not known.
Holshouser, 78, was a Republican governor from 1973 to 1977. In November, he joined former Gov. Jim Hunt in a bipartisan group calling for a responsible solution to the nation’s debt crisis.
