Tom Austin: Kids as props

Kids as props

Once again the president will do anything to get his way. Using children as props for his gun control proposals is really sad.

Certainly some things can and should be done to improve our current situation, but using kids to move along his legislation shortly after Newtown shows how low he will stoop. This legislation will not make our kids safe in school, which is unfortunate. Look at Chicago, for example: very tight controls and very many murders.

There are a number of things that should be looked at, including some of the things the president is proposing, but let’s not use kids after such a horrific event. The president said all those kids had written him a letter regarding gun control. Maybe he should also look to all the kids writing him telling him not to spend their futures away.
