Pope’s pay
On the day the GOP revealed its agenda to eliminate income taxes (news story, Jan. 17), I find it sadly ironic that the writer of the letter “Worthwhile pay” would laud Art Pope as some sort of hero for not accepting a salary as the state’s top budget official, stating Pope only wants to “serve the state, not fatten his wallet.”
As one of the wealthiest business owners in the state, the amount he’ll save in taxes makes that salary look like chump change.
