Michael Schwab of Durham has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting.
For his Eagle project, Michael designed and built three benches that function as an outdoor classroom for the science department at St. Thomas More Catholic School in Chapel Hill.
Michael, the son of Scott and Cheryl Schwab, is a graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh and was planning to attend Landmark College in Vermont upon his return from a six-month community service program in Costa Rica. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 316 and Venture Crew 316 in Apex.
