Mary Thompson Newcomb and Royall Randolph Brown III were united in marriage at an afternoon ceremony on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. Margaret’s Anglican Church, Great Exuma, Bahamas. Following the ceremony her parents hosted a reception at the Grand Isle Resort.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Barbara LeCount Newcomb and Mr. Robert Timberlake Newcomb III of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Thompson Kinderman Agee and the late Mr. Walter Kenneth LeCount and Mrs. Robert Timberlake Newcomb, Jr. of Raleigh and the late Mr. Newcomb. She was presented by the Terpsichorean Club at the 1997 North Carolina Debutante Ball. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her Master of Science in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh, and is currently a nurse anesthetist at Forsyth Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Royall Randolph Brown, Jr. of Winston Salem. He is the grandson of Mrs. Louis Nelson Dibrell, Jr. of Danville, Va and the late Mr. Dibrell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Royall Randolph Brown. The groom earned his Bachelor of Science in agricultural business management from North Carolina State University, and is currently employed with Corporate Benefits Concepts.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. Her cousin, Katherine Mason Newcomb Slain of Cleveland, Ohio, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included Alice Day Dibrell Brown, sister of the groom, and Barbara Ann McLeod Newcomb, sister-in-law, both of Charlotte; Miss Rachel Rene Rahe of Baltimore, Md and Miss Tiffany Elayne Radford of Wrightsville Beach.
Royall Randolph Brown, Jr. served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Robert Timberlake Newcomb IV, brother of the bride, of Charlotte; Thomas Brodie Winborne III, Douglas Dewitt Boyette II and Jonathan Craig Stanley, all of Raleigh; and William Harrison Parker of Washington, DC.
The couple will honeymoon in the Bahamas and Italy, and will reside in Winston Salem.
